‘Dangerous Beauty’
I am going to post about other shows from Milan but I was so impressed by Versace this season, I thought it deserved one all to itself. I absolutely love anything that has a Gothic element, and Donatella showed this in full force. The crucifixes, studded leather, alarmingly tight looking coat-dresses and chain mail (first seen on the Versace runway back in1982), were all on the catwalk. The coats were especially beautiful with flashes of jewel toned colours or all black with appliquéd crucifixes. I’d quite happily rock up to Tesco in any of them, although if I could afford one, I’d more likely be shopping in Waitrose. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rooney Mara decided to wear something from this collection to the Oscars.
